VINCI Facilities, a leading provider of facilities management and maintenance services to the public and private sector, has successfully completed certification to BS EN Energy Management Systems 16001.
Certification to this standard demonstrates that VINCI Facilities are serious about reducing their energy and carbon both in-house and for their customers. They take enormous pride in delivery high quality, efficient and sustainable solutions and place real value on delivering value for money for their clients.
The standard will enable VINCI Facilities to develop an energy policy and set objectives for management systems in line with legal and regulatory requirements. It provides recommendations and guidance on energy management systems and outlines how to put in place processes to reduce greenhouse gas emissions
Commenting on the achievement, Tony Raikes, Managing Director, VINCI Facilities said,
“We’re immensely proud of obtaining this standard which will not only improve our energy performance but also help to save us money for ourselves and our customers. It is imperative that we prioritise the need to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, to lead by example and work with our customers to do the same.”
VINCI Facilities intends to upgrade this certification to the recently released International standard (ISO 50001:2011) in January 2012.
