VINCI Facilities has secured a £28m contract to continue to provide decent homes works to Sandwell Homes, the Arms Length Management Organisation (ALMO) of Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council. The ALMO is responsible for housing management of Sandwell Council’s 30,000 homes.
VINCI Facilities first began working with Sandwell Homes in 2005, when it was awarded a 5 year contract to provide decent homes works across the borough. Decent homes work include replacement of kitchens, bathrooms, windows, doors and other internal and external works to the building fabric. By improving the envelope in which tenants live, VINCI Facilities has helped to improve their quality of life, and support them in developing new skills.
During the 5 years of the contract VINCI Facilities out performed its competitors on all key measures, showing its commitment to collaborative working practices which saw Sandwell Homes achieving one of the fastest transitions from 1 star status to 3 star status.
In 2009, our partnership with Sandwell Homes won West Midlands Constructing Excellence award for Integration & Collaborative Working for a second successive year.
The award of the second phase of works, which covers the remaining homes that did not benefit from the first wave of decent homes improvement works, will see VINCI Facilities supply and fit new kitchens and bathrooms and carry out a number of internal and external repairs.
Tony Ford – Operations Director commented:
“We wanted to work with Sandwell Homes because we shared their vision for providing homes to their tenants which they can be proud of. In 2005, we started on an important journey and I am delighted that we will be able to see Sandwell Homes’ vision of providing decent homes to all of their tenants through to the very end”
