Project Summary:

We started working with VINCI five years ago providing waste management services across multiple sites. The total spends on services at the multiple HMP facilities we service, contributes towards the social value we generate through our commercial collaboration. As well as VINCI’s generous contribution to our charity, we are able to employ an ex-offender into permanent work.

Recycling Lives have embedded Social Value throughout its business since 2006, contributing benefits to the communities where we live and work. This is done by delivering numerous initiatives over the years expanding to various groups of those socially excluded including, young people in education, feeding those communities in need, reducing reoffending through employment pathways for those leaving custody, and tackling homelessness at their residential centre based in Preston.

Sandwell Soil Stacks Replacements

Project Summary:

A 4 year project for Sandwell MBC involving the replacement of typically 60-70 year old metal soil stacks with proprietary HDPE Fusion Welded stacks and all associated works to multi-occupancy medium to high rise flats. The existing stacks suffer from decay and build-up of material causing blockages, leaks and foul smells and need to be replaced whilst remaining in operation throughout the works.

Starrant was established in 1972 and has provided Plumbing, heating and mechanical services on a contract basis throughout the Midlands for nearly 50 years working for Social Housing, Main Contractors and New Build Developers, in the last 5 years we have included turn-key disabled adaptations, to allow customers to continue to live in their homes independently, and the replacement of soil stacks to medium and high rise flats whilst the properties remain occupied and the stacks in use throughout the process.
