VINCI Facilities Building Solutions is providing bespoke Net Zero retrofit solutions across the UK that improves the lives of social housing tenants as well as the owners, users and developers of our built environment.
VINCI Facilities Building Solutions is at the centre of the drive to decarbonise the UK’s built environment. Over 40% of the UK’s emissions come from our existing buildings and 21% comes from our homes. That means to achieve Government targets we must deliver retrofit solutions.
We are working alongside our colleagues in our energy team, customers and consultant partners to put together the right advice, the best funding packages and physical solutions on the ground to deliver an optimised retrofit solution to enable as many buildings and facilities as possible to achieve net zero. We have delivered thousands of refurbishment and conversion projects across the UK through local supply chains that bring expertise and specialist skills to meet or exceed client expectations. Providing a net zero solution is a natural progression – as well as the ethical and moral thing to pursue as a part of a contribution to combat climate change.
The emphasis has to be the whole building or whole home and wherever possible our approach will address the built fabric and the activities within the structure. Net zero can only be achieved via a holistic approach and our ambition is to work with stakeholders to go further than current building regs; and beyond SAP and EPC testing to deliver the best possible kWh/m2/pa energy performance for each building and full PAS 2035 compliance. We will provide a solution that covers off consultancy, design, planning – which can include helping sourcing and applying for funding – and the physical delivery of the best solution. The best way to achieve this is in partnership and our approach is rooted in collaboration between clients, owners, occupiers and our supply chain.
Net zero is a journey, not a specific destination, and it is one best travelled on as a team.

Building Solutions has secured ten contracts with the council worth a total of £202m. These contract include replacement windows, externals, aids/adaptations, void works, and the council’s Decent Homes programme.
Since the partnership commenced 15 years ago, Building Solutions is the only contractor that’s remained continually appointed by the council, enabling it to lend stability to the transformation of the housing stock.
To maximise the efficiency of the works, Building Solutions heavily invests in digital technologies. This has included issuing tablets to all colleagues and utilising Microsoft’s PowerBI in order to provide real-time performance analysis.
In an exemplary commitment, Building Solutions’ work goes further than simply refurbishing the properties, with the organisation delivering £3.47m worth of social value activities across Sandwell since the partnership began.
